Just like eating healthy keeps your body strong,
exercise is important
too! Exercising builds
strong muscles and keeps your body healthy and in shape. Exercise can
be any activity where you use energy. The more active you are the more muscles
you use. This will build up your muscles and make them strong! When you have
strong muscles it is much easier to do work.
You must continue to exercise your muscles every
day to keep them working well. When you do not use your muscles for a
long period of time they will become weak and small.
There are some activities that use more energy than others,
two excellent examples are running and swimming. There are many others as well.
Lively exercise like swimming and running makes your heart beat faster. Your
heart is your most important muscle
so these types of exercises are very helpful. The heart muscle becomes stronger
and you are able to circulate blood
more easily. It also helps you to breathe faster and deeper. This is how your
whole body is helped by exercise.
Although exercise is very important you also need to be
careful not to exercise too much at one time. This could make you feel tired. If
this happens while you are exercising be sure to stop and rest for a few
minutes. Then your muscles will be ready to work again.
