Going to the Doctor

Your Eyes

The doctor will also check your eyes. To do this you will stand several feet away from a chart and cover one eye at a time. There are pictures or letters in rows. You will start at the top where the pictures are bigger and progress down to the rows that are smaller. One row, called row 20 is one of the lower rows. If you can read this row you have normal vision.

These are all the different types of things the doctor will do at a regular check up. Sometimes the doctor may give you a shot to prevent you from getting sick. Also if you are sick already he may prescribe medicine for you to take at home so that you will feel better quickly.
