Having a first aid kit on hand in case of an emergency is very important!  Here is a list of all the common first-aid necessities. 

Dressing and Bandage Materials

  • 5x9 Sterile Pad-used to stop bleeding or cover large wounds.
  • 4x4's, 3x3's, and 2x2's 
  • Non-adherent Dressings- In the case of an abrasion or burn you need a non-stick type of dressing.
  • Adhesive Tape
  • Adhesive Bandages
  • Triangular Bandage- You can make a sling with this.
  • Elastic Bandage- used for support in case of a sprain or strain.

Equipment

  • Tweezers
  • Bandage Scissors
  • Cold Compress
  • CPR Shield
  • Plastic Re-sealable bag
  • Safety pins

Wound Care

  • Latex Gloves
  • Butterfly Closures-pulls small wound edges together
  • Moleskin-Cover a blister site with this to prevent further rubbing.
  • Antiseptic Towelette- A wipe that can clean any skin adjacent to a wound.
  • Iodine Swab- Can also clean around a wound site. 
  • Antibiotic Ointment-To help prevent an infection.
