I'll give you another hint, it is dark brown and slippery, Figured it out? Well your largest organ inside of you is actually your liver! In an adult the liver is the size of a hot water bottle. It weighs more than three pounds! We don't hear about the liver as often as others but it is a very busy organ. It is kind of like a food processing factory. It processes all of the nutrients we need to grow healthy and strong. Blood comes to the liver straight from the small intestines where it has picked up sugar, minerals, vitamins and a bunch of other nutrients. Inside the liver all of the nutrients are processed so that our body can use them. After this is finished the blood picks up the processed nutrients and takes it to all of the parts of the body. The liver also takes germs, poisons and old blood cells out of your blood and destroys them keeping your blood healthy and clean. To top it off your liver also makes bile which squirts out into your intestines and helps you eat fatty foods.
