      How to Prevent a Sunburn

Ouch! Be prepared. Don't get a sunburn!

Difficulty Level: medium     Time Required: Twenty Minutes

Here's How:

  1. Try to limit your time in the sun during the peak hours of 10am and 3pm.
  2. Wear a hat to shade yourself and protect your eyes
  3. Wear sunglasses with ultraviolet protection.
  4. Wear lightweight clothing to cover as much of your skin as possible.
  5. Put on sunscreen that is at least a SPF 15. Do this 30 minutes before you go out into the sun.
  6. Every three to four hours you need to reapply sunscreen.
  7. If your skin is already red use a sun block with a much higher SPF.

Tips:

  1. Know your skin type. If you have fair skin be especially careful in the sun.
