How to Find Out If Blinking Is Involuntary
Do your eyelids move without your control?
Difficulty Level: easy
Time Required:
5 minutes
Here's How:
- You will need a helper with glasses and a cotton ball.
- Make certain that your helper has their glasses on and you can still see
their eyes through them.
- Stand approximately one yard away from your helper
- Throw a cotton ball directly at your helper without letting them know that
you are going to do it.
- Your helper will blink and probably raise his hand or jerk away too.
Tips:
- Make absolutely certain that your helper is wearing glasses and that you throw
only a cotton ball, anything else could possibly hurt your helper.
- The cotton ball's approach causes your helper's eyes to blink. Blinking
is a reflex action, therefore it is not controlled by your thoughts. It will
happen automatically. It happens because sensory neurons in your eyes, hand
and head send an instant message to your brain.
